Intellicus Upgrade Process
To migrate reports and query object metadata from a previous version of Intellicus to Intellicus 25.x, you can use either of the following upgrade methods:
1. Upgrade by Pointing to the Previous Repository Database
Use this method if you want to retain all your metadata (such as reports, query objects, dashboards, cubes, and schedules) directly from the earlier version.
Steps
Backup the previous Intellicus installation folder.
Uninstall the previous version of Intellicus.
Install the latest version of Intellicus.
If customizations were applied (e.g., logos, CSS, scripts), reapply them manually to the new installation.
If the previous version was white-labeled, reapply those changes.
Restore required files, such as:
Report templates
Configuration files (
.properties,xml, etc.)
Start the new Intellicus version.
Point to the previous version’s repository database in the configuration.
Restart the Intellicus services.
Note
The uninstall process may leave behind some configuration files and folders. You can remove them manually if needed, after taking a complete backup.
It is highly recommended to backup the repository database before pointing it to the new version.
As a best practice, generate a backup CAB file using iPackager even if you are following this method.
2. Upgrade Using iPackager (CAB)
This method uses Intellicus’ iPackager utility to package and migrate repository objects between versions. It is ideal if you want to perform a clean installation or move to a different environment.
Steps
Backup all Intellicus folders and configuration files from the older version.
Create a CAB package using iPackager from the old version of Intellicus.
Uninstall the previous Intellicus version.
Install the latest Intellicus version on the machine.
If customizations or white-labeling were applied, reapply them in the new version.
Merge configuration files and templates, if required.
Start the Intellicus service.
Deploy the CAB file using the CAB deployer in the new version.
Restart the Intellicus service.
Important
This method does not migrate:
Saved reports
System logs
Audit data
