Filtering in High Speed View Reports
High Speed View enables you to apply filters at the report level or view level to narrow down data across dimensions, attributes, and measures. This helps focus on specific slices of data rather than analyzing entire datasets.
Applying Filters
You can apply filters using the following methods:
1. Using the Filter Panel
Drag dimension hierarchies, attributes, or measures into the Report Filters panel on the left.
Based on the field type, the system automatically opens a filter configuration pane (e.g., In List for attributes like Country).
Filtered results are applied immediately to charts, crosstabs, or maps.
Tip
Click Reset Filters under the report Actions menu to revert all filters to their last saved state.
Filter Pane Operations
Pin To: Pin the filter panel to the left, right, or top of the layout.
View Options: Choose how values are displayed:
List / Dropdown / Expanded Dropdown (left/right pin)
Button View (top pin)
Multi-Selection:
In List View: Use Ctrl + click to select multiple values.
In Dropdown: Use checkboxes.
Tree View Expansion: For hierarchical dimensions, expand nodes to select specific levels.
Actions Menu (⋯):
Change Filter Criteria
Remove filters
2. From a Crosstab or Chart
Crosstab:
Ctrl + click on one or more rows
Right-click and select Filter
Chart:
Drag and select data points using the mouse
Right-click and choose Filter
The filter is instantly applied and reflected across other views, depending on the filter scope.
3. Using Advanced Filters
Click Advanced Filters from the main menu to define complex filtering conditions across multiple fields.
Filter Section Properties
Property | Description |
|---|---|
Field | Select the field to apply the filter. |
Select the comparison operator (e.g., Is, Between). Operator options depend on the field’s data type. | |
Value | Type or select the required value(s). Options are determined by the field’s configuration in the meta layer. |
Filter On | If filtering a measure, select the associated dimension for context. Disabled for dimension/attribute filters. |
Prompt | Check this option to display the filter panel above the view. |
Open/Close Braces | Use parentheses to group conditions logically. |
Relation | Define logical operators between conditions: AND (default) or OR. |
Advanced Filter Actions
Add Filter: Adds a new filter row.
Remove Filter: Removes the current filter condition.
Reset Advanced Filters: Resets to the last saved state.
View-Level Filtering
Applying Filters on a View
Click the Filter icon on the view header.
In the dialog, define filter conditions.
Click Apply.
This affects only the selected view. Other views remain unchanged.
Report Filters in Views
Include Report Filters
In each view’s filter pane:
Enable Include Report Filters to apply report-level filters to the view.
If the report and view filter values overlap, filtered data is shown.
If there’s a conflict, a No Data Available message appears.
Manage Report Filters
Click Manage next to the Include Report Filters option.
A list of all report-level filters appears.
Uncheck any filters that should not apply to the current view.
This allows fine-grained control over which report-level filters affect individual views.
Reset View Filters
Click Reset View Filters to revert filters to the last saved state for the current view.
Identifying Applied Filters
The system provides visual indicators in the filter tree:
Fully Selected: Checkbox is checked.
Partially Selected: Checkbox is shaded, indicating some child filters are active.

Configuring XTD Filters
You can perform XTD (Year-to-Date, Quarter-to-Date, Month-to-Date, Week-to-Date) analysis using time-based filters.
Use dimensions like Year, Quarter, Month, or Week from the time hierarchy.
Define Preset Ranges for:
YTD, QTD, or MTD
Last X or Next X periods (years, quarters, months, weeks, or days).
Select the To date in Custom To Date
Select the Latest Date checkbox to filter data up to the last date present in the dataset.
Select the required value in the Compare YoY dropdown to compare current period data with the corresponding period of the previous years.
The selected calendar (standard, fiscal, or custom) determines start dates for each period.
Examples
Period | Range |
|---|---|
Year | Start of year → Specified date |
Quarter | Start of quarter → Specified date |
Month | Start of month → Specified date |
Week | Start of week → Specified date |
This supports time-based comparative analysis between periods.
Configuring Dynamic Dates in the Date Time Filter Criteria
For In List, On, and Between criteria, you can configure Dynamic Dates instead of selecting fixed calendar dates.
You can select from the following options:
Latest Date – Automatically picks the most recent available date in the data.
Current Date – Picks the system’s current date at the time of report execution.
Note
In the current version, the current date option is available only when the dimension is used as a filter. It is not available for dimension hierarchies.
Using dynamic dates ensures that reports always fetch the latest or current data without manually updating date filters.
